Mommy Time

Tonight is what I love to call "Mommy Time," my hubby and daughter are asleep and that means I can have a night all to myself to indulge myself. In my opinion I believe that we all moms deserve to have some alone time to relax and recharge. I will be putting a Instance Eye Lift Algae Mask, paint my nails black with the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel and top it of with gold glitter from ORLY. I have also got a Duncan Hines Perfect Size, because calories don't matter tonight. I will be watching some Netflix shows laying back and relaxing. I love to do this types of nights all the time but of course sometimes I don't have those types of options all the time. I try to schedule this types a night at least once a month, so that I can relax. If we as mom's don't take care of our selves how do we expect to take care of our families, we need to be healthy. So tonight I remind all of you hard working dedicated mom's to take a night, morning, or evening off just to unwind.

Nightstand Draw Organization

I needed to clean my drawer from my nightstand and I wanted to share what I have in my drawer. My necessities are very important and I need them at easy arm reach.

I am embarrassed to share how my drawer looks but sadly this is the truth, but not for long. I emptied out the draw, and separated all the items.

I got some drawer organizers from Target, I didn't use all of them only the ones I needed.

I only utilized two long bins, two small bins, and a large bin. On the left side I have note pads for whenever I remember something I need to write down, next to that is the long bin filled with sharpened pencils, pens, and highlighters. Next is the large bin that holds all of my nail products like nail clippers, nail filer, nail scrubber, nail polishes, and more. I love to keep my nails nice and having them next to my bed makes it easy for me to fix my nails whenever I need too. Then I have my daughters LeaPad charger, an extra charger plug, some small towels (got them in Walmart a long time ago I have two more but they are washing, I use them for when I'm fixing or painting my nails), round cotton balls, hair ties and head bands. On the two small bins I have my ear phones and my daughters LeapPad games. In the last long bin I call it my small first aid bin, I have band-aids, Neosporin, Hydrocortisone, Madera for kids, Nivea Lip Care, and Arnica. My daughter normally has cuts or scrapes and she tends to scratch them making them worse so we try to leave a band-aid on. My daughter is also allergic to mosquito bites and again scratches them making them worse, so I have to have Hydrocortisone and band-aids available all the time.

I feel so accomplished and I'm happy how my drawer ended, and now all of my necessities are easy for me to find. Hope this gave you great ideas or motivated you to organize your draw.

DIY House Wreath

My sister-in-law needed a wreath and of course I was so excited. We looked for ideas on Pinterest and she liked Karen Moore from Etsy, so that was my inspiration. The upside was that since Christmas just past they had all Christmas items on sale. The wreath frame and brow burlap were in the Christmas section and on 60% off the chevron burlap was 50% off in the ribbon section, the total of my cost was about $20 for all of it.

Items needed:
5 - 15' brown burlap
1 - 15' blue chevron burlap
1 - 15' blue burlap
scissors

First I cut off the garland pipe cleaners in half and saved the other half to use them in the rest of the wreath.

This wreath frame only had two circles to work with so I maximized every way possible. If you can see from the picture on the right you can see that there is a wire that goes around both circles. I would pass the burlap in between the the outer circle and wire than after creating the loop I would secure it with one of the garland pipe cleaner.

Then I would pull the burlap to the other side between the inner circle and wire, loop it and secure it with a garland pipe cleaner.

After that I would pass the burlap threw the gap (right picture) to close off the gap.

And the gap is gone, I kept repeating the same thing over again until I completed it.

Once I completed the entire wreath frame with the brown burlap I started to use the blue chevron burlap to cover up the ugly garland pipe cleaners that you could still see.

I cut pieces of the blue chevron burlap and tide them in the back to secure them (sorry I did not take a picture of how I secured them)

Supplies needed for the bow:
1 - 15' Blue burlap
1 - Blue Chevron burlap (what was left over)
Bowdabra
Strign (I used burlap strip that was laying in the floor )

The Blue Burlap I looped it four times on each side about 6" long.
The Blue Chevron Bow I looped it only twice from both sides and about 4" long.
Then I placed the Chevron bow on top of the other one, tying them together with the burlap string.

I tied a wire around both bows and left it long enough so that I could secure it onto the wreath frame.

Both bows put together were about 14-15" long.

I secured the bow by looping the wire on to both circle frames of the wreath. (This way its secure)

Supplies Needed:
Letter initial
Paint
Brush
Bag (recycling)
Plate
Yarn
Hot Glue Gun
Hot Glue Sticks
The letter M was a cardboard color so I decided to paint it white.

I then got yarn and wrapped it around the letter m and would Hot Glue it around the edges, it is time consuming but it will insure that it won't move.

Supplies Needed:
Wire
Pliers
More yarn

I had placed the letter up to the wreath to see how I would secure it and this were the three best points to do so.

I then tied the wire to the back of the letter M.

Then I hot glued the yarn to cover the wire.

You wouldn't know it was there.
I then tied it on too the wreath.

And this is the end result... what do you all think?

And of course I want to show the reality... this is how my craft room ended. I love creating not so much the having to cleaning up part, but its all worth it and I hope my sister-in-law loves it as much as I do!

Christmas Games

There is nothing better than celebrating Christmas Eve with some family competition, in my family we love to play games. This year I was put in charge of the games, now with me being a teacher and a busy mom I looked for some games on Pinterest for ideas and I found some great ones, others I thought of myself. I bought the majority of my supplies at Dollar Tree and got prices downtown (jewelry).

I put all the game supplies and prices all together, making it easy and organized.

This are the games.

Charades Game:
Two players will use the play dough to help its team guess the character, animal, thing, or food.
(I don't know if someone had already created this game, I'm not taking credit for it).
Dollar Tree Supplies: Crazy Art Dough

How Many Clothespin Can You Get
Each hanger has a total of 36 clothespin, one player at a time will attempt to grab as many clothespins as possible but only using one hand.
My family and I have played this game so often and it is always so funny how the one that you least expect, gets the most.
Dollar Tree supplies: 2pks of Clothespins
Hangers from previous Dry-cleaning (recycle 😀)

 Funny Santa
Funny Bunny games, except I though we could make it a twist and make it Christmas theme. Every time a player puts a marshmallow in their mouth they will say Funny Santa, until they could no long do so. The player that may put the most marshmallows wins.
HEB supplies: 2pks of Marshmallows

I originally wanted the tissue boxes for the game Jingle Bell Shake Christmas Party Games but since
Santa's Tissue
I didn't just want to throw out the tissue so I decided to make it a game as well.
First one person will hold the box and the other will attempt to take out the tissue as fast as they can only using one hand.
Jingle Bell Shake Christmas Party Games
Tie the tissue box that is filled with the tennis balls to the waist of someone and have to box facing the back. The player must shake it as much as they want, in order to attempt to empty the tissue box first.
Dollar Tree supplies: 4 Tissue boxes and 4pks of Tennis Table Balls.

The family Sharp made this game look like so much fun, its been going around threw Facebook and thought it would be fun for my family too.
The first player puts on the oven mittens as they attempt to open up the gift, in the mean while the other play rolls the dice. The second player must attempt to get a double in order to take the oven mittens and try to open up the gift.
Dollar Tree Supplies: Oven Mittens and Game Dice

I did not take a picture of the actual ball because I forgot it at my mothers house, but I thought this game would be fun. I did not do it how Emily Handford did hers, my mother thought it would be better to just do it with money.
Each player can only remove one piece of plastic wrap at a time and if they unwrap a price then they may keep it.
Dollar Tree supplies: Plastic Wrap

Prices

I will take pictures of all the fun games and let you all know how it went, I hope you all enjoy your wonderful wonderful families filled with love, laughter, and memories.

A simple DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater with a small budget. It was a last minute idea I put together and it turned out great and simple. I purchased my supplies at the Dollar Tree and whatever I could find in my craft room.

Dollar Tree items: Tree Skirt (38"), Garland (12') and 9 Pk of Mini Bows
Items at home: Pom poms, Red ribbon with white polka dots

Supplies: Hot Glue Gun, Glue Sticks, and Scissors (not in picture)

I glued the Garland all around the edge of the Tree Skirt.

Cut two pieces of ribbon 2" long

I glued a long piece of ribbon to both top ends of the skirt and the 2" long piece on top of the ribbon.

I glued the pom poms everywhere and the small bows around the top of the Tree Skirt. (Snow flakes and snowman were already on the Tree Skirt)

As I had finished I thought that the Tree Skirt still needed something. I had some Gift Tags and decided to use them.

Cut of the strings of the Gingerbread Man, Santa, Snowman, and cut out the Christmas Tree. Then glued the tags around the Tree Skirt.

The End Result... I loved it, I think all it needed was some lights. What do you think?

Paired it with my Red Toms. What do you all think?
